Lolcats have firmly cemented their place on the Internet, thanks to the humans behind the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis, which held an Internet Cat Film Festival. The museum received more than 10,000 entries from across the globe for categories such as Comedy, Drama, Foreign, Animated, Musical, Documentary, and Lifetime Achievement. But the People’s Choice award went to black-and-white art piece Henri 2, Paw de Deux.

Much like the Internet pranksters that sent Pitbull to Alaska, Mountain Dew is the latest victim of a crowdsourcing campaign gone wrong. For its new green apple-flavored soda, the soft drink company launched an online campaign asking fans to name the drink at DubtheDew.com. Internet trolls soon took over submitting names like “Diabeetus,” “Gushing Granny,” and other more questionable ones we won’t name here - causing Mountain Dew to pull the plug.
