Sarah Tighe Hayes, the wife of the highest-profile trader named in the Libor scandal, has started speaking out on Twitter. Her husband Tom Hayes, a former UBS and Citigroup trader nicknamed “Rain Man,” was charged last year with trying to manipulate the lending benchmark Libor, but he has remained mostly silent in the case. Some of Mrs. Hayes’ tweets have openly criticized the US Justice Department amidst its ongoing investigation into the scandal.

T-Mobile and DISH took the top spots in Socialbakers’ Q1 rankings of the most “socially-devoted” US brands on Facebook. The firm calculated brand responsiveness based on the number of questions answered per quarter and found that the best brands answer at least 65% of questions asked.

What The Wall Street Journal calls “an unlikely alliance of regulators and industry groups” is pushing to allow financial firms to be able to monitor employees’ personal Facebook and Twitter accounts. Regulators are concerned that a number of new state laws aimed at protecting employees’ privacy would put investors at risk.
A last-minute amendment to the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act banning companies from peeking at social media accounts was struck down by the US House of Representatives last week. The amendment’s sponsor said he wrote it in response to the trend of prospective employers asking for interviewees’ social media passwords before offering them a job.
