Mets’ PR director Jay Horwitz joked on Twitter that pitcher Matt Harvey, who is a big New York Rangers fan, would skip Wednesday’s game against the White Sox to catch the Rangers playoff game. But it was no laughing matter for some Mets fans, who were assured that Harvey would be at Citi Field on Wednesday.

The new hire will replace Vogue‘s director of communications Megan Salt, who is leaving the magazine to join Amazon Fashion.

ColorComm hosted a panel discussion on advancing women of color last week at Edelman’s office. ColorComm board member and EVP at Edelman Trisch Smith spearheaded the effort. Panelists included CocoaFab.com founders Angela Burt-Murray and Shelly Jones Jennings. Burt-Murray recently served as editor-in-chief at Essence magazine, and Jennings is currently an executive at Black Enterprise. The panel was moderated by the organization’s founder Lauren Wesley Wilson.

AECOM SVP and CCO Paul Gennaro, who served in the US Navy from 1988 to 1994, is in a video series featuring former servicemen called “What I Learned from the Navy.” The goal of the video is to communicate to current  servicemen that they have marketable skills that are valuable in the civilian marketplace. Gennaro was recently named In-House PR Professional of the Year at the 2013 PRWeek Awards. 

This afternoon, PRWeek Talent Pool and the Business Development Institute did their part to help PR pros take the next step in their career development. Jointly, the two organizations presented the Future of Communications Career Workshop in New York City.

The PR industry is changing rapidly due to the constant, almost daily, evolution of technology. This workshop helped PR pros of all levels understand how to adapt with those changes, ensure greater success, and lead the innovation charge surrounding many of the hot-buttons issues including earned media, content marketing, and SEO.

Losse captured a screenshot of the message and shared it on social media. Barker is serving as a spokesperson for Sandberg, and she recently launched a new firm, The Pramana Collective, with fellow West Coast PR execs Sean Garrett and Brian O’Shaughnessy.
