As PRWeek managing editor Gideon Fidelzeid learned when shopping for supplies for his new Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a positive in-store experience can be a brand’s best friend. Television star and author Rachael Ray launched a doggie food truck today to promote her new line of pet food. The truck made a stop at Columbus Circle in New York City to serve free samples of Ray’s new line of natural wet food for dogs called Nutrish Naturally Delish.

Ray and Nutrish are partnering with Best Friends Animal Society, which operates the nation’s largest no-kill sanctuary for abused and neglected animals, along with two of its local rescue partners Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons and Husky House. Best Friends Animal Society also offered on-site adoptions of homeless pups. A portion of the proceeds from sales of Nutrish goes to support shelters and animal support organizations.

The three-day food truck tour of New York continues tomorrow at Union Square.
