President Barack Obama and Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney took a break from a tense campaign to trade jokes with each other last night at the annual Alfred E. Smith Memorial Dinner, an annual fundraiser for the charity named after the former New York governor and hosted by the Archdiocese of New York.
During the spirited evening, Romney joked to the formally dressed crowd, “It’s nice to finally relax and wear what Ann and I wear around the house.” Obama asked everyone to “please take your seats, otherwise Clint Eastwood will yell at them.”
