Livestrong issued a statement of support for Lance Armstrong on Tuesday night, just after the cyclist said he will stop fighting accusations that he used steroids during his record-setting career. The group cited Armstrong’s work against cancer in the statement. The cancer survivor cited in a statement the toll the inquiry has taken on him and his family.
The US Anti-Doping Agency said Thursday that Armstrong will be stripped of his seven Tour de France titles and banned from the sport for life.
