The rivalry between Apple and Google got more heated on Monday when developers noted that a test version of Apple’s iOS6 operating system for iPad and iPhone didn’t include a YouTube app. The YouTube app was one of the first apps on the original iPhone in 2007, but the partnership between the two tech giants has since cooled.
Tech insiders speculate that YouTube owner Google wants to take greater control over the app, as well as the ads that run on it, and improve its user experience.
