Burson-Marsteller released the first-ever global study of world leaders on Twitter called “Twiplomacy.”
The study, which analyzed 264 Twitter government accounts in 125 countries, found that two-thirds of global heads of state are on social media. The findings from the study also show that more than a quarter of all world leaders and governments follow Barack Obama on Twitter. But the @BarackObama account mutually follows only Norway’s Jens Stoltenberg and Russia’s Dmitry Medvedev, and hasn’t established mutual Twitter connections with other world leaders.
