Shooting at Batman screening in Aurora, Colo.
A tragic shooting at a midnight screening of “The Dark Knight” at a theater in Aurora, Colorado has left 12 dead and at least 58 wounded. Warner Bros. studio issued a statement and has canceled the red carpet premiere as well as press events in Paris following the incident.
“The Dark Knight” was one of the most anticipated movies of the year, and the incident raises the question of safety in movie theaters. The NYPD is stepping up security measures in city theaters as precautions against any copycats. The Romney and Obama campaigns are also putting aside politics in light of the incident. President Obama canceled a campaign event in Florida and both campaigns have pulled advertising in Colorado.
