Facebook outperforms Twitter in mobile advertising, according to a quarterly TBG Digital report. Facebook had a 1.14% click-through rate on 278 million ad impressions in June, more than Twitter’s 0.266% rate on 24 million ads. However, more users clicked through desktop ads on Twitter than Facebook.
The study comes as good news for Facebook less than two months after its stock price plummeted following its IPO on the NASDAQ stock exchange. Investors questioned at the time if the social network could profit from mobile ads.
