Weber Shandwick is working with the Chess Club and Scholastic Center of Saint Louis for the third year in a row to promote the US Chess Championships. To kick off the tournament this year, the Club unveiled the largest chess piece in the world, breaking a Guinness World Record.

Speaking of chess, editor-in-chief Steve Barrett, a self-confessed chess nerd, will help raise funds for the Lagrant Foundation by challenging people to play him in chess at the PRWeek Conference on November 14. Players must pay $100 to take on Steve in aid of the charity. PRWeek will match fund the $100 for anyone who beats him and $50 for anyone who makes a draw. Please contact adele.durham@haymarketmedia.com to reserve your place in the charity chess display.
